'98 vs '99 V70s V70-XC70 1998

He's right in that the '98s, although very problematic compared to 850s are still less costly to keep than the newer '99 on up models with their ETMs and their ETMs are all failing.
Some of the '98 problems went away by '99 but I'd agree that the '99 electronics, requiring dealer only service for most electronic concerns makes it a worse car. The '98s were more DIY for those who like to work on their own cars.
