Ditch Our ETS and Install Old Throttle System. Is It Possible?

Interesting question for techs and engineers?

Is it possible to retrofit the old throttle system [ 98 and older]
of caps and rotors or whatever the mechanics and ditch our Electronic
Throttle Modules and Fly-by-Wire gas pedals on 99+ Volvos.

I'm sure it would be complicated but for us with keepers maybe it
would be worth it over the long run. A new ETM every 50,000 miles @ $1000.
a pop seems unfair.
