actually volvo reccomends changing the trans fluid at 100k OR WHEN Nesc.. I have found when nesc to be at 15-25k miles. the older non sythentic trans are cheaper to maintain and I have seen failure at 50-60k with no service.
What all manufacturers seem to reccomend is the minimum to get you out of warrenty. Volvo is no exception 7500k oil changes will get you past 4-50 but I wouldnt want the car at 75k with that svc record, same with Trans svc
