I followed the Bay 13 guide and had no problem. You can squirt PBlaster on the the shaft and that should help it slide out easier. I removed the axle nut with an impact wrench and then screwed it back on partially as suggested on the Bay 13 guide. I rapped it a couple of times with a small hammer and it losened pretty easily. On the noise, there is a metal plate behind the rotor that can rub the rotor. Just use a large screw driver to move it back a fraction of an inch so that it doesn't touch the rotor.
