My wife has the same problem....we bought V70-XC70 1999

Were the seats well cared for (are they nice and soft like someone took a lot of time with leather conditioner, etc.)? If not, hitting them several times (over the course of a few months) with a good amount of leather conditioner like Lexol may soften them to the point where you get a little more grip....
