1998, a good year??? 850 1994

Bill - Now you're scaring me! I'd better cure myself of this Volvoitis quick!!

The expense of maintaining these FWD/AWD cars is making reconsider my original idea - buy a nice low miles 94 or 95 940 turbo (if I can find one..), then buy the best tires and modify the suspension a little. Better yet from a performance standpoint, buy a nice used BMW 325 or 328.

Yeah, I know the 98's have a bad rep. However, it does seem that some folks on this board have had reasonably good luck with their cars. The appeal of the 98's for me is that they are more DIY friendly than the later models...

BTW - How do you like your 5 speed? Does it shift as well as a BMW or a good Jap car?

My 240 has spoiled me. Although it is not a perfomance car, it is sooooo cheap to run. With good maintenance they will pretty much run forever. So far this year I have bought 2 tires and a flame trap hose ($8). Does need a new caliper though...

Thanks for your feedback!
