First, let me state that I HATE all convertables. On all convertables, IF you keep the car for many years, the cloth top will be an item that will deteriorate before the rest of the car and cost you ALOT of money to replace if you want it to look nice. Look at any older convertable and you'll see.
Lots of added noise (top up), wind and water leaks and top problems will always need attention. Volvos convertable is not a simple device, it's overly complicated for a convertable and known to be problematic.
If you live in a DRY southern state and can just leave the top down ALL the time, you'ld be OK but if you want it to go both down and then back up again, you'll have problems.
Another issue is what's known as front cowl shake (vibration) that all FWD convertables have. To me, it's very noticable and annoying for an expensive car. Compared to any other FWD Volvo, the C70 convertables front end shakes more than I'd be happy about. Go over a bump or RR track and you'll think the front end's loose. It's a known issue with all FWD convertables and not curable.
If you like the C70 look, get the coupe instead as you won't have those problems.
