I had success using the electrician snake wire (Home Depot).
Over time gunk and small leaves get down the drain tube and clog it.
As for maintenance, when parking the car do not leave the sunroof open even in a nice sunny day.
Leaves and debris maybe blown in and therefore clog your drain tube.
Also I have found that once a year, I mix a moderate solution of Tide washing machine detergent with water and use a funnel and pour it down the sunroof slowly, this will remove dirt and grimy stuff (similar concept as washing your clothes). Then rinse with plain water.
You may want to unclog from below, pour some water to see whwere it comes out from below and use a wire to unclog it.
