I have a '96 850 with the same problem, only on the drivers side wiper. Same as you, I have tightened the nut, but it seems that the actual rod coming out of the motor is stripped, and will need to be replaced. I don't know how to do it (sorry) but thought I would respond, perhaps inciting someone else who knows to respond. Honestly, it looks like a design flaw in that the teeth that holds the wiper itself are really shallow.
