You may find the following website helpful for figuring out how to get your climate control unit out. I ran across these while trying to figure out how to pull out the radio... but essentially the same steps. Haven't personally pulled my climate control out yet, as planning on doing with my radio work. I too have some bulbs to replace and my dealership says will cost $100 - $200 to have them replace these bulbs. Yikes. Anyway, check out the site below...

I heard others say on other sites that a slight angle needs to be put on the climate control unit to disconnect and pull out, & therefore is tricky... this is depicted in the 4th and 5th pictures down in the website above. Good luck!
