Advice: Purchasing 1996 850 GLT

You don't want to buy it unless it has service records. 80K means that in 5K miles the ABS module is going to expire. That's OK because Victor can fix it for less than $200. Gas milage for a NA is around 30 on the highway, not bad for 5 cylinders, but only 20-22 around town. Regular gas will work. Check the tranny fluid, timing belt interval, pollen filter, air filter, etc.
