Thanks to all. Managed to get a new thermostat from the dealer for $20 on Thursday last and a 6" T-40 from a local hardware store. 15 minutes later (and a little more spilled coolant than I should have), the car had heat (and since that night it hit -10, I was grateful).

Appreciate all of the help!

Now I'll start thinking about that rear hatch before it really crowns me!
