I'm not sure you did answer the question. Obviously a new windshield is going to be an improvement over the old scratched and pitted one regardless of what make it is. I believe that is what the previous question was about since you indicated you specifically chose one brand ("after market") over the original (OEM Volvo). The visual improvement of a new windshield vs an older scratched and pitted one seems to be a mute point.
