CV BOOT 850

I would agree that it is not worth changing the boot this is one of the messiest jobs you can do and the results are not gauranteed.

Believe it or not you can extend the life of your current joint by electrical tape. Clean the boot really well with alchohol, make sure it has lots of good grease in (you can peel back the boot and clean the joint if it is really contaminated) and just wrap 3 or 4 wraps of tape. When the joint starts to go (you will get lots of warning) just replace the axle as others have recommended. I once had a car that lasted almost 2 years like this and I sold the car without ever having to replace.

cheers,
