Sounds like your coolant is low if the compressor is cycling every few seconds. There's a leak somewhere. If you're sure your evap is good try replaceing both compressor lines. Both of mine started leaking close to 100 k miles. You can get them rebuilt from Century Auto AC in Phoenix (centuryautoac.com) for about half the repair shop price.
