Happens to virtually ALL 1998 - 2000 S/V-70s. No one (after the market - i.e., trim shops, etc.) can really repair them well enough. Volvo now has a core swap deal. They factory repair them, and you get one that looks like new, without the problem in the future. Front pair are a little over $300, rear pair aboout $270. I worked a deal with my dealer and he cut those prices by 15%, and charged internal labor to replace them. The price I was quoted by the Swedish motors people mentioned in one of the other posts was more expensive than Volvo.
