I have a '95 with almost 100K miles. Have had to replace both compressor hoses due to leaks at the crimp points and the evap is next. I think most ac hoses really can't be expected to last much more than ten years. If you do replace the evap be sure to also install a cabin intake air filter if your car doesn't allready have one. This will prevent crud from building up again around the evap and accelerating corrosion.
