Is the vibration occuring as you brake from high speed, or is it only apparent at low speeds? Are you sure it's not the ABS system activating when it shouldn't? Once the constant velocity joint boot tears and loses its grease, it's best to change the axle... rebuilding axles is a messy and time consuming task. The obvious first choice is rotor warpage, which is usually a vibration at high speed, which becomes an irregular deceleration at low speed... if you don't feel the vibration in the steering wheel, treat the rear rotors as your primary suspect and check them out. If it turns out that it's the ABS module, Vic Rocha is the man! If you check out his web site..... http://home.earthlink.net/~vicrocha/ ..... you may find useful information. In addition, he responds to e-mail inquiries, and is a pleasure to communicate with. Good luck.
