The ETM ( or ETS) is the Electronic Throttle Control System. It controls the amount of air/fuel that enters the car much like a throttle cable does. When this part goes out, it is a $1,000.00+ bill to have it replaced. The NHTSA has a specific part to complain about, it is called the vehicle speed control on their site I think.
