It seems to me that a replacement would be quite available at a junk yard.

Years ago our department made up hose packs and wanted to use seat belts to bundle them.

The only belts that worked were the middle back seat belt as the buckles were on belt material, not mounted in place.

We got 20 of them in no time and because they were of almost no use, the junk yard gave then to us for free.
