Matthew,

You admit your car runs like a champ and looks decent. Do you have a lot of money that is just burning a hole in your pocket? As was suggested, invest your money in a growth account.

Ask your sister-in-law if you can track her expense with the car you love. Don't use the fuel economy for an excuse to spend a lot of money to replace the Volvo.

Don't overlook costs that you may not have considered. Insurance comes to mind. Call your agent and price the coverage you would expect to put on the VW.
