Turn the ignition switch to off as the wipers get down to the "park" position. If they start again after turning the key on, either the contacts of the interval relay are stuck shut (tapping it will make them open) or the plastic lever in the motor that operates the park switch may have broken.

Check the FAQs to see if there are any conditions where a bad ground at the motor or switch will cause it.
