93 940 high Nox 900

The 940 failed yesterday due to high NOx, about 2x the legal limit. I'm thinking CAT, but someone else mentioned it may be running too lean. What are some common areas to check in regards to running too lean? Should I replace all the vacumm lines? Anything else?

Thanks,
Gil

Things to check would be bad vacuum lines, leak in intake manifold gasket, leak/s in intake snorkel tube if it is a Bosch FI car, and weak or lazy O2 sensor. Next on the list would be clogged injectors or bad/leaky injector o-rings , low pressure at the fuel rail , or blinky ecu coolant temp sensor.
Check to see if it is setting any codes, that could give a clue.
