But the biggest part of the change in compression ratio was due to changes in the volume of the combustion chamber, not changes to the thickness of the head gasket. The 0.7 mm to 1.0 mm change in compressed gasket thickness would result in only about a half point (0.5:1) shift in comp ratio.
In the US, the "E" engine came only in the '70 1800E, '71 1800E, and the '71 142E.
