Why dont' more ppl restore Volvo's? 140-160

Guess I'll put in my 2cents worth, though it's a little late due to power outtages in the pac. northwest. I just bought a 68 1800s for $800 with an engine that was rebuilt 30k ago. I've now invested $4500 & counting & I've not done any significant body work or paint. My 72 145e has been the most expensive "free" thing I've ever gotten. It's great to have non mainstream cars but restoring any old car is expensive so you've got love the car. Volvos weren't like tri 5 chevys when they were built so fewer people are intersted in restoring them. I would guess that's the reason for their lack of numbers & interest. That's fine with me though 'cause I guess I fit in with this bunch of oddball enthusiasts. I used to own Saabs when I lived back in Wi. & my 2 old cars besides the Volvos were a 61 Olds f-85 wagon & a 66 ford Galaxie 7 litre [I still have this but it's being sold. It's the reason I'll "never" do a frame off restoration again] so I definitely resemble the "oddball" in my vehicle choices. The fun though is using one as a driver & meeting up with people who own or owned one & still think about them fondly. It provokes lot's of interesting conversations.
