Radio conversion in a 780 (adding Alpine M-Bus CD changer) 700 1989

Fitz,

Long time but I'm back a bit...

I have a CR-814 out of my 1991 780. It was an easy swap for a Kenwood unit with the flip closed faceeplate. It looks pretty good. I have the entire factory unit but it may need some work. The radio has some scratchiness in it and the CD changer would quit occationally. That's why I replaced it. The front amp was disconnected for some reason.

November 29th, another driver was trying to use my lane in the wrong directon and hit me almost head-on. Needless to say, my beautiful "Sophia" was totaled. The entire front end was torn off and most ot the driver's side destroyed. Even the roof buckled some. She saved my life though...and maybe the other driver too. I sustained fractures of my heel and fibula, cuts in my head, a strained shoulder, and corneal abrasion. I will return to work on Monday. God is not finished with me yet. :)

I was able to find another 1991 780 but have to have it shipped in. It should be here is a couple of weeks. I salvaged the Kenwood unit and might put it in the new one. That would give me another factory unit. Let me know if you're interested.

BTW, congrats on the wife (Proverbs 18:22)

Safe Blessings,
Patrick
