Radio conversion in a 780 (adding Alpine M-Bus CD changer) 700 1989

"So you are saying I cant just put modern radio/Cd player in my 780 dash?"

Correct. -at least not without a lot of hacking and slashing and wiring work. You will quickly loose the stock look and most new radios that I've seen installed in 780s look terrible. Watch the 780s that come and go on eBay for a few months to see some prime examples of how terrible they can look.

If you want to keep the original look, and you want to keep the EQ, you're best off upgrading to the Volvo CR-813 or CR-814 radios. If interested, email me off board and we can talk the finer details over the phone. My email address is in my Brickboard user profile.

God bless,
Fitz.

FYI, the amps in the 780 are much larger than the stock 740/760 amps and should last the life of the car or longer. Replacing the speakers will be a huge improvement as the paper cones don't last so well after 20 years of use.
