Problems starting 87 240 in cold weather. 200 1987

Check out this section of the FAQ for IAC and ECU temp sensor info,http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/EnginePerformanceSymptoms.htm#RunsRichBlackSmokePoorAccelerationECTTPSFI

Pretty much same engines, close enough for the blues, as the old saying goes. 700/900 FAQ is one of the best reference sites on the web, imho.

If your buddy has an impact wrech, air or electric, then he shouldn't have any problem with the fuel filter. FWIW, they are a huge filter, and I have never seen one slap clogged. Seen ones that were dirty, but not clogged even after 100k+ miles. The newer Toyota and Honda's don't even have one.
