I'm with lpsage on this. Back in the ancient past, it was important to use the special blue stuff because the metals were different from "regular" cars. Technology has advanced so everyone's blue/green formulations are aluminum-safe. This just seems to be part of the lore that will not die.
For an older car, it is more important to change the coolant every few years (even if it does not "look bad") than to obsess about special Swedish, deionized, double distilled water that costs $20 US per 1 liter glass bottle from the dealership.
I do like synthetic Tranny fluid, but that's another thread...
