Oil fill amount 200 1987

We've had some interesting discussions re. oil fill amount.

It's about 4 qt. to approx mid-way in the hash mark zone on the dipstick.
About 4-1/3 qt. to the full mark on the dipstick. Maybe 4-1/2.

People found various statements from Volvo re. the oil fill quantity and they always say 4 qt. My guess is A) Volvo is pleased to have the oil level in the middle of the range and B) they originally set it up for 4 LITERS to the full mark, or nearly to the full mark. Since a liter is a bit more than a quart... But that's just a guess. OTOH, why would Swedes back in the '60's or '70's set up their oil pan and dipstick for quarts??
