88 745 wagon: Blower ticking noise 700

It's nowhere near as difficult to get the fan out on a 7 series car as it is on a 240. It's under the dash on the right, not completely buried in the center. See the FAQ for more information on removing it. Unfortunately, due to the way it is made, it is not easy to get oil in where it is needed. I was able to reduce the ticking on a car I once had, but not eliminate it completely. While the noise is annoying, it does not seem to indicate that the motor is about to fail. The fan on these cars is a cheap GM part---I think I remember reading somewhere that one for a Chevy Celebrity will fit, so you might want to consider replacing it, if peace and quiet is important to you.
