1979 240, 20K miles, Auto Tranny - car Rolls when in park - need to use park brake 200 1979

The parking pawl is inside the transmission, or was on the AW35 ('76 240) that I had a similar problem on. The pawl could be snapped off, or as in my case, a sheared roll pin that backed up the spring that pushed the pawl.

It was a messy job, requiring the tranny Valve Body to be dropped, which let out a bunch of fluid that didn't drain the normal way.
