I find the easiest way to bleed brakes is with a bicycle pump. It makes it a one person job and it is easy once you have the altered MC cap and a frame pump (not a floor pump).

Install cap, attach pump, open bleeder and slowly apply pressure with the pump. Keep a visual level of fluid in the reservoir so as not to introduce any more air or you will need to start over.

Buy a quart of fluid and flush out the entire system this way. I have always used Castro LMA in my cars.
