You know you're a new Brick owner when... 700

You know you're a new Volvo owner when:

You wipe off the oily grit in your engine compartment, and you see a bright color underneath.

You wonder why some people use aftermarket parts, when Volvo parts last forever (then you go get a Duralast part from Autozone).

You don't quite know what your ECU is, but it scares you that it costs more than what you paid for your car.

You open your hood just to stare at the engine.

You get talked into scary repairs by those who say it's 'easy.'

You have a 'parts allowance' in your monthly budget.

You spend double your parts allowance.

You can't find your flame trap.

You can't find your engine block drain spigot.

You start noticing all the old Volvos around town. Then you think about what spare parts you could pull from them.

You get all those jokes you read about Haynes manuals....

Ari

Instead of a pin-up girl in your garage you have a poster of Irv Gordon.

Sorry hit the Wrong button.

I meant to say that when you become a seasoned Volvo owner.

After you get your first one. You want to buy more.

Your snow tires cost more than what you paid for the car.

You go to your part shelves ( note plurality) and pull the parts you need to get your new Brick up to snuff. Lenses, belts, hoses, etc.

When it comes time to buy a "new" car, you look for the same model, year, and color that you already have, so that later on you can share parts.

When you drive around with a trunk full of tools, and have a service manual on your dash at all times.

When you love the fact that old Volvos run forever, but hope there's a new "donor" car at the JY each time you go.

When you go to the JY for entertainment more than you go to the movies.

When you're at the JY pulling a part, someone approaches your surgery in progress, and you growl at them as if they're going to steal a part from YOUR donor car.

When you start talking flame traps and Nivomats to perfect strangers.
