88 240DL Wagon - Instrument Cluster and wiring question 200 1988

The double male spade terminal, which is a siamese terminal, is the external speed connection. It is used for the cruise control signal and also for the upshift indicator system on stick shift cars. If you have neither, then there should be nothing connected to this double terminal, which is just above and to the passenger side of the speedo head rear housing (10 o'clock from the back, 2 o'clock from the front). All the lighting connections come through the large, round plug. The crescent plug is the temp and fuel gauge connector. I believe the cruise is your orange lead. There is one more, and it will have a very small, 3/16" female spade connector inside a square plastic housing. That's your OD light (for automatics) or upshift indicator light connector. It will only fit on the very tiny male connector in the lower, passenger corner of the cluster in back. Hope that helps!
