Dear mmal231294,

May this find You well. The defrost setting is supposed to activate the air-conditioning compressor. Cool air holds less moisture than does warm air. As air temperature drops, condensation on the inside of the windshield will evaporate. As air flows through the car, the now moisture-laden air leaves. Thanks to the cooler air supplied by the defroster, you have a cooler interior and a clear windshield.
