I had all my studs cracked ( sounds indecent ), but one. I managed to break the stud just below the manifold ear. A car buddy in the office says to tap the studs/nuts about 100 times, with a SMALL hammer, before trying to remove the nuts.

If you do manage to break the stud, check the 700/900 FAQ.
