However, comma... that doesn't make a short block weigh 300 lbs. :-)
IIRC, the 330 to 350 lb figures you see published are for a fully dressed engine with all external accessories, intake system, exhaust manifold, flywheel, clutch, and bellhousing. Just an educated guess really, but I'm thinkin' the weight of a pure short block is closer to 200 than 300.
