I'm painfully aware of the fact there's a starter out there that weighs half what mine does

Why the feeling of pain? As much as it would kill me to follow some of those rules, that one would seem to be one of the more sensible rules. Are the original starter motors banned from modification?

You'd like the rules I use to race under. :)
