Had a roll over in 1987. Although I walked away from with just a stiff neck. After over 20 yrs of living with increasing number of symptoms I finally discovered that c5-6 and c6-7 had degenerated.
Unfortunately in this country, thanks to our wonderful American Medical Association, artificial disc replacement surgery is considered experimental and not covered by most insurance companies.
Went to Spain,, 12hours and nearly 30,000 dollars later, walked out off the hospital pain free taking just Advil.
One week Later I went to Costa Rica for an dental implant, a couple of crowns and to have my mercury fillings removed. Cost less than 2,000 dollars, about 15,000 dollars less than it was quoted to me here.
Sorry if this seems out of place here but I needed to vent my frustrations. The farther I get away from our corporate controlled medicine the safer my wallet and I feel.
