Clutch Judder Problem 120-130

Hello everyone, I'm having some weird clutch issues. Recently I installed a m46 in my 122s but recently I've been having some really bad shakes when ever i let go of the clutch in 1st and 2nd. I had to bolt the slave cyl to the bottom of the car and not the trans because of clearance issue and bell housing was manual clutch not hydraulic. I think for some reason the clutch disc is warped and that is the reason why it judders. Its a new clutch and worked fine in the begining now it seems to be getting worse. The other night it juddered in 3rd gear for the first time. Can anyone figure this one out or how to make the install better?

In addition to all the excellent advise, you may have a leaky seal. A quick check is to see if any fluid is dripping from the bell-housing.

Clutch Judder Problem 120-130

Since the bellhousing moves relative to the car (flexible motor mounts, etc) you have GOT
to have your slave cylinder bolted to the bellhousing or engine or tranny.
If you can't find a way to do this, you will have to go back to the cable clutch.
The result of having the slave cylinder mounted separately from the tranny/bellhousing/engine
is exactly what you describe.
You can minimize it by dumping the clutch rather than trying to let it out slowly.
(Be sure you have enough engine revs to carry the load!)

Please register on BB and post a pic of your set up. As said, it won't work but there are a few ingenious work arounds to suit. Having a push type hydraulic sytem worka pull type, cable, clutch is possible. I can't think where you're having clearance problems as there is quite a bit of space around the clutch arm area.
There's a few ideas on this thread.
Pull type slave for B20 instead of cable.

Do you mean that the slave cylinder is bolted to the body and the pushrod then goes to the trans? That's the problem. As the engine moves on the mounts the pushrod length will change and it produces a "feedback" that can cause the judder. You'll have to remount the slave on the engine. It might be oil on the disc as well. If so the clutch will have to come out and be inspected.

What Rhys said plus while you are in the make sure the flywheel bolts are properly torqued.
