I didn't want to get into it a lot, but I agree on the "recycled" versus "new" vehicles.

But ideally a modern fuel system in an older car is the best of both worlds; for example, the modern injected engine in a 1965 Volvo 122 that I'm building.

A modern catalytic converter is a cheap device to put on even an old car and has minimal effect on the running/backpressure/etc (barring the modern style of feeding it versus just running it at reduced efficiency).

So I've got no problem with putting cats on cars. I don't like gutting an emissions system for perceived better operation. The dark days of the 80s are long gone and cars can be run cleanly without being horrible messes of wiring and vacuum lines and unusual widgets. Clean can be powerful and reliable.

I just hate the CARS they're putting newer engines in.
