The switch part you can replace actually cannot fail in the mode to give a false warning light, so cleaning up the old switch and the hole it gozinta has the same effect as replacing one with a $36 kit. It is just a contact -- the objective being the conductive surface of the shuttle.
Replacing the O-rings might just be an exercise in futility because the bore to which they seal is likely to be rusted steel by now.
