ANSWER removing auto shift knob and PRNDL housing 200 1990

The push knob needs to be removed, which can be a real pain because in most cases it breaks. I have had some luck with two L shaped screwdrivers custom made from old ones I don't use. I bend the lower part of the screw driver at 90 degrees and grind it untill the L is 3/16. Then use the two and pull up evenly, its about 50/50 if it breaks. I would try a few at the pick and pull. When you come away with one that didn't break tackle your interior swap. The switch fro the overdrive needs to be removed and disconnected. the rubber shift knob will then come off, use care making sure the wires do not bind as you pull the shifter off. The rest is simple enough. Good luck. I would also spray lots of plastic rejuvinator on the plastic parts and make sure it is a nice warm day, less chance of the plastic breaking.
