Its not difficult. Pry out the overdrive button, and disconnect it from the 2 wires. Place a towel over the knob. Use a large adjustable wrench, and close it until it just fits around the shifter lever under the knob. Use a large hammer and strike the wrench underneath, driving the knob off. The reason for the towel is to contain the spring and push knob which would fly around the interior. Replacing the knob is easy. Just line up the parts, and push it back on. Be sure to route the wiring for the overdrive button first.
