760 Fuel Issue 700 1988

Hey Guys,

Im having an issue with my 1988 760 turbo. When I hit the gas on my car the and the boost goes over the middle of the gauge the fuel seems to cut out and the engine coughs. When I let off the gas the car runs but I cannot give it too much gas or it will happen again.

I have replaced both fuel pumps, checked the fuel pump relay and the fuel regulator.

It is an intermittent issue that only happens once in a while and when turn off the car and restart it the problem goes away for a while.

The turbo air intake gets soft with oil deposites over time and starts to collapse when the turbo kicks in and starts sucking in more air. This effectively blocks your air intake and kills the engine. When you let up on the boost in opens up again. You can replace the tube or put some sort of rigid ring inside it to prevent in from collapsing. Old spark plugs can also cause missfires when the turbo boost is suddenly appplied.

The Plugs were all fouled up. I have only been running them for 20k. How often do you recommend changing them?
