There is a set screw. On mine, removal of the set screw did not release the cage. Only heat and a hammer and punch and a lot of penetrating oil finally got them apart. Took a lot of effort and I thought it would destroy the motor but it still works fine....the rear bearing on the motor had come loose and that's why I had to get the thing apart. Works fine now.
