My 1990 240 had a starting problem yesterday. It would crank nicely, but not start. I've been 'lurking' on this board for about a year and knew the first couple things to check.
-I wiggled the CPS, no luck
-I pulled the oil cap and checked the cam was rotating, it was
-I checked the fuses in the car, no luck
-I replaced the fuel pump relay with a known good one,no luck
-I pulled the 25 amp fuse near the battery. It had some corrosion on it so I cleaned the blades. BINGO!! Car started!
Thank you! A year ago, I would have towed the car to a shop and felt pretty silly afterwards. I'll replace the 25 Amp fuse holder with a new one...piece of mind for $10.
