You don't need any tests.

You need to replace the engine wiring harness with the upgrade replacement harness. You might get lucky and find a good one from salvage. We can give you the number and tell you where to look for it on the replacement harness.

No amount of electrical tape is going to help.

As an alternative, you could create your own replacement harness. Would you be up to the task? It is quite a chore and there is no room for error.
