I would imagine that it would be the same as the model year's transmission.

For example, in AW7_ transmissions up to 1983, the transmission fluid specified in the owner's manual was type F. Then starting in 1984 (and I know because I used to own a 1983 and a 1984) the manual specified Dexron.
